Ardfin 16 Year Old Isle of Jura Whisky

Ardfin’s 16 Year Old Isle of Jura single malt whisky is a unique expression of the island, and Ardfin and Oswald’s Club in London are the only places in the world you can taste it. That is, unless you are lucky enough to receive a private allocation. Matured for 14 years in American white oak, followed by a further 2 years in Oloroso sherry casks, it has won several prestigious awards, including: a silver at the 2008 International Sprits Challenge; a score of 94 from the Beverage Testing Institute the following year, along with a Gold at the International Review of Spirits Awards; and then in 2010 a Gold and Best in Class at the IWSC International Wine and Spirit Competition.

Now you can apply for a private allocation of this unique limited edition Isle of Jura whisky, with each bottle numbered after a hole on Ardfin’s world renowned course, using the form below.

TASTING NOTES

Colour:
Glassy golden highlights.

Nose:
Full and rich. The hand of time has moulded this unique Single Malt into an array of intense notes – each aroma has been beautifully structured to reveal harmony at its best. Silk and honey with a hint of ginger spice encompass this floral bouquet.

Taste:
The heart of the matter. Allow this noble spirit to drift over the palate – having lain for 16 long years in American White Oak, the warmth of the tongue will assist in raising the true depth of the spirit’s quality. Soft peaches and honey with a hint of citrus and marzipan will slowly arise yet the backbone of its heritage continues to ebb away on the aftertaste, leaving the palate rewarded and satisfied. A memorable finish which only an island can bring.

Expressing the serene beauty of Jura, this rare whisky reflects its sense of place, with a smooth and elegant taste and a hint of island salty freshness. Each bottle is named after a particular hole on Ardfin’s challenging course, sculpted into the rugged Jura shoreline. Private allocations can be applied for below, priced at £2,500 + VAT/taxes per bottle.

The rarest of all Ardfin whisky is hole #2 “Seaweed Path”, the ultimate expression of a whisky golfing fusion, named after the visually glorious and intimidating 202 yard par 3 hole. Private allocations can be applied for below, priced at £10,000 + VAT/taxes per bottle.
